Interlibrary loan / book blocks
Specification for supplying data in the context of interlibrary loan (external site) or book block lending.
- The item file (SBC file) is compressed, given an end marker and distributed across data carriers.
- The first data carrier holds an INI file which, among other things, describes the SBC file.
- The individual parts of the compressed SBC file are numbered consecutively, starting at 000.
The following information (SBC fields) is mandatory in every record:
- 081 (charging number): accession number (1st data element)
- 331 (title proper)
The following SBC fields are mandatory unless the corresponding details are present in
the [From] section of the INI file:
- 084 (owner): library identifier (1st data element)
- 087 (loan data): date due (2nd data element)
